Weatherspoon Announces State Senate Campaign

Democrat continues a lifetime of service with TN District 31 run.

Memphis, Tenn — David Weatherspoon announces he is seeking the District 31 seat in the Tennessee State Senate.

In addition to being a husband and father, Weatherspoon serves his community as a hospital chaplain at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital. The Tennessee native says he will continue to serve the broader community by bringing back a focus on the neighborhoods and the qualities that make the district a wonderful place to live.

“I feel that I was called to serve in this capacity because for too long we have not had representation that advocates for our neighbors,” Weatherspoon said. “Now is the time to heed the call for responsible and honest people to run for office and help our neighbors through legislation that will make our communities better, safer places to live and work.”

Advocating for affordable health coverage and quality education, Weatherspoon’s campaign focuses on bringing his history of service to the community to the state legislature. As a former college chaplain, Weatherspoon worked with students to help them foster a life dedicated to caring for their neighbors and incorporates that passion and care for one another into this current run for office.

“I believe the people of Shelby County want a neighborhood where all can succeed, a neighborhood where everyone has a safe home, a quality education for all of our children, access to healthcare, and good jobs to provide for our families. This kind of place is found when the entire neighborhood is successful,” Weatherspoon said.

Weatherspoon will bring the fight for better healthcare and education to the State Senate with his passion for service. To learn more about him, his values, and plans to win District 31 in 2018, visit the website https://Weatherspoon2018.com and www.facebook.com/Weatherspoon2018.
