Welcome to Weatherspoon2018.com, the website and online service of Weatherspoon for TN Senate, District 31 (Weatherspoon for Senate).  We know that you care how information about you is used and shared. This Privacy Policy explains what information of yours will be collected by Weatherspoon for Senate when you use our online services, how the information will be used, and how you can control the collection, correction and/or deletion of information. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy does not apply to information we collect by other means (including offline) or from other sources.

Information We Collect

User-Provided Information: You provide us information about yourself, such as your name and e-mail address, if you register for a Weatherspoon2018.com (including by “following,” “liking,” linking your account to Weatherspoon2018.com, etc., on a third party website or network). If you correspond with us by email, we may retain the content of your email messages, your email address and our responses. We may also retain any messages you send through Weatherspoon2018.com. Weatherspoon for Senate uses the NationBuilder platform to organize our community of members, supporters and prospects. You can read more about that company and its features and polices at NationBuilder.com. When you visit Weatherspoon2018.com, NationBuilder may send one or more cookies - a small text file containing a string of alphanumeric characters - to your computer that uniquely identifies your browser and lets NationBuilder help you log in faster and enhance your navigation through Weatherspoon2018.com. A cookie does not collect personal information about you. A persistent cookie remains on your hard drive after you close your browser. The Donation page at Weatherspoon2018.com is provided by ActBlue. Weatherspoon2018.com does not collect or retain any payment information. ActBlue.com does share the fact of your donation, the date, amount, and other associated information with Weatherspoon2018.com, but no credit card or other payment information is shared.  ActBlue's privacy policy is located here.

Our pages include a small piece of JavaScript, referred to as a "pixel", that indicates to Facebook actions which you have taken on our site, including page views and certain button clicks. All data remains anonymous. We use this to measure the effectiveness of our advertising on Facebook and our website in general. We may use personal data to build Custom Audiences for our advertising efforts on Facebook. In this situation, an encoding of information we have about you is compared against encoded information Facebook has, in order to aid us in Facebook ad targeting. The Voter Information Lookup on our Voting page is provided by the TN Secretary of State website at https://tnmap.tn.gov/voterlookup/. We do not take possession of the infomation entered on that form at any time. Their privacy policy can be found here.

Opt-Out Services

The Digital Advertising Alliance offers a tool for opting out of Interest-Based Advertising (IBA) from specific companies, including Facebook. Clicking on this link at will run a tool that checks your browser cookies and offers you the chance to opt out.

How We Use Your Information

We use the personal information you submit to operate, maintain, and provide to you the features and functionality of Weatherspoon2018.com.
